Cute Cards & Papercrafting Projects by Dana Baker

Flowers, specifically daisies, make me happy.  I love them.  Close To My Heart recently brought back one of my favorite stamp sets, D1491 Hooray Bouquet.  So of course I had to pull it out and play with it!  One of the things I really like about this set is that it coordinates with images on the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge so I can mass cut out the flowers.

The red lines around the images indicate that they are a cricut image.

Now I got my stamp set long before Design Space was created, so my stamp set lists the page of the book the image is on.  Newer sets now list the item # so that you can quickly find the image in Design Space. (By the way, the size listed is the HEIGHT, not the width.)

Hooray Bouquet uses images #M4356A and #M3EB66.

Card 1:D1491 Hooray Bouquet CTMH
The first card I made was for a CTMH team color challenge and the color was Nectarine.  Sunny and bright and ready for spring, here is what I created.

I used the Rock-N-Roll technique with Canary and Nectarine inks for the flowers.  Then I kind of rolled and gently folded each petal with my fingers to give them some dimension.  I stamped the flower from the “Cherishing Her” stamp set tone on tone on the background cardstock.  I ran white ribbon through my Canary stamp pad to color it.  Then I embellished with some bling gems, stickles in the center of the flowers, and liquid glass on the sentiment.  One flower is popped up with foam tape to sit higher than the others.

The next card….omg I fell in love with this color combo!  I was really trying to think outside of the box on this one.  This card is SO SPARKLY!!  And it just doesn’t show up in pictures. 🙁   I stamped the small swirl circle stamp on white cardstock with Lagoon ink on the bottom layer, and tone on tone on the top layer.

Then I filled in all of the white on the bottom layer with a Mint shimmer brush.  The flowers are cut out of Celebrate Today paper with my Cricut and I again gently rolled and folded with my fingers to give them some dimension.  All 3 layers of flowers also have a thin layer of the Mint shimmer pen on them so they sparkle too.  The heart in the center is an acrylic heart with silver stickles on it.  All of the layers have Bluebird ink on the edges.D1491 Hooray Bouquet CTMH

These cards definitely make me smile!  Bling-a-bling-bling baby!!
